The Creamiest Hummus Recipe

One of my go-to snacks for home and a party is hummus. Healthy, kid-friendly, and easy to make.

I get a lot of compliments on the creaminess of my hummus, and I will say that it has a lot to do with my blender. I use a Vitamix and it really purees so well. There are lots of good blenders out there and if you spend time in the kitchen, it is a worthwhile investment to have a good blender.

That being said, with a few basic ingredients, anyone can make a delicious and nutritious snack.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 can garbanzos (drained and rinsed)

  • 1/4 cup good quality tahini

  • 1/4 cup cold water

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • juice of one lemon

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine all ingredients in blender until smooth. If needed, add a touch more water.

You can always get creative with the spices and flavors. I’ve made roasted red pepper hummus, sundried tomato, olive, and roasted garlic. Play around with what you like using this tried and true base recipe.
